Likes and Dislikes


Giving your opinion

Likes and dislikes are different ways to express that something in your opinion is good or bad.
These are some verbs used to communicate that:

Love - Very positive
Like - Positive
It's OK - Neutral
Don't like / dislike - Negative
Hate - Very Negative





Activities
1. Guessing game: Make students guess different words giving simple clues of what each one is. There are some clues already given. Then, ask which of these they like and don't like using Yes/No Questions.

Sports
1. Soccer - This sport is famous around the world. You play it with you feet. You score goals to win.
2. Baseball - This sport is famous in USA. You use a bat and a ball. You score runs to win.
3. Tennis - This is a soft sport. There is no contact. You can play it 1 on 1 or 2 on 2.
4. Boxing - This a violent sport. Two people fight each other with their hands.
5. Golf - This is a sport that rich people love. It is relaxing. You play it on a big green field.

Movies
1. Romantic - A movie about love. Girls really like this movies. Titanic and The Notebook.
2. Comedy - A funny movie. It's a good movie for the family. People normally laugh at it.
3. Horror - A movie that scares you. It normally has bad people, monsters and big sounds.
4. Fantasy - A movie that contains magic, creatures and other worlds.
5. Action - A movie with a lot of cars, guns and fighting. There are a lot of special effects.

Languages
1. English
2. Spanish
3. French
4. Portuguese
5. Mandarin / Chinese

Food
1. Hamburger
2. Apple
3. Banana
4. Pizza
5. Sandwich

When you finish, make students use the vocabulary for asking questions with "Do you like _____?" and the answer "Yes, I do. / No, I don't".

2.You and your partner make a Venn Diagram about the activities you like and compare to see if you have more preferences in common or more different preferences. Write the things you have in common in the center circle  and the things that are different in the outer circle.



Now make a Venn diagram for Melissa and Tracy and complete it listening to the recordings.
