Speaking Task: The Pitch.

Roleplay: You are a group of producers that want to create a new show for Netflix, but you need to give a Pitch. So, in your group, invent a series or film that you want to create. Follow these steps.

1. Brainstorm different ideas and get a name that represents the show.
2. What is the show about?
3. What is the plot?
4. What kind of audience is it going to attract?  What makes it interesting?
5. What are you going to need to do the show?
6. Explain what you are going to do as a publicity stunt.

Writing Task: The Critique

You are going to summarize and criticize one movie or series you would like to talk about. The idea is to describe the story, who the characters are, what makes the series or movie unique, indicate the strong and weak points and give your general opinion about it. 120 words minimum (around 10 good long lines from a serious notebook).

Example:
I am going to talk about my favorite movie. The movie is called Saving Soldier Ryan. It is about a group of soldiers during WWII who have to go save Ryan, the last survivor of 5 soldiers. The main character is interpreted by Tom Hanks, he is the sergeant and he helps all his soldiers go through the war until one by one die trying to find Ryan. The other characters are a series of soldiers with specialized skills. This movie is unique because of its realistic war depiction, the exciting action and the moral problems presented. The best of the movie are Tom Hank's acting and special effects. What I don't like about the movie is that the beginning goes too slow and you get bored with so much talking. I think this movie is great. Probably Saving Soldier Ryan is the best WW2 movie out there and I recommend you watch it if you like action or war movies.
