Writing Projects
This is a list of writing projects to execute over several days with your students. The idea is to give them steps as objectives they have to achieve, receive their writing and edit the mistakes so they can come up with a clean writing.The House of the Future - 01
You are going to write a detailed description of a housing project that can help with current environmental problems. Follow the instructions to work on the steps:Step 1 - Environmental Issue
Introduce the environmental issue that you want to address. Explain how it started, what form it takes in the present and the evident consequences.
Step 2 - The Housing Project
Present your housing project and how this is an answer to the issue chosen. Describe the house using the prepositions to indicate at least 6 different parts of the house. Give details.
Step 3 - The Expected Outcome
Explain how the housing project will change the bad effects of the environment and what changes could be seen in it. Detail what would change in cities, communities, land or places that you have refered to.
Step 4 - Similar Projects
Support your idea showing examples of similar housing projects in different parts of the worlds. Explain what the projects are, what is similar to them and the results that they have given.
Step 5 - Obstacles and Limitations
List the different elements that are necessary for the construction of this project. Is it too expensive? Does it require certain regulation from the government? Is new technology needed? Is it self-sufficient? Then, explain how to overcome it.
Step 6 - Conclusion and Opinion
Restate the intention of establishing your houses. Give your opinions on why it is interesting for you. Then, invite others to form part of it and end up with a motivational phrase to promote the idea.
Movie Critique - 02
You are going to write a detailed review of a movie. Follow the instructions to work on the steps:Step 1 - General Description
Indicate what movie you are going to talk about. Preferably find out the name in English, if the movie is generally in it. Then, describe what it is about, what type of genre it belongs to and when it was released.
Step 2 - Characters
Talk about the main characters of the movie. What is special about them? Where do they live? What conflict do they face? Describe the most important characteristics they have. Then, comment on famous actors present on the film and what other roles they have had.
Step 3 - Plot and Scenes
Describe in general how the story of the movie is shown, talk about the best moments, the most interesting parts and what call your attention. Indicate 3 positive characteristics of the movie and 1 that could be better.
Step 4 - Conclusion
Explain why the movie is interesting for you, what it makes you feel and if you would like to see a second part of it. Finally, rate the movie 1 to 5, based on how much you like it.
Green Technology - 03
You are going to write about technology that can eliminate the effects of pollution. Follow the instructions to work on the steps:Step 1 - Present your Green Technology
Indicate what your technology is, explain how it works and how it can eliminate the effects of some ecological issues.
Step 2 - Replacing Polluting Tech
Explain what other harmful technology this green techonology is going to replace, explain what the harmful techonology is and list some of its effects on nature.
Step 3 - Comparisons
Compare both technologies to show the main differences indicating the advantages and disadvantages. Then, clarify why the green one is better.
Step 4 - Obstacles and Limitations
List the different elements that are necessary for the application of this technology. Is it too expensive? Does it require certain regulation from the government? Is new technology needed? Is it self-sufficient? Then, explain how to overcome it.
Step 5 - Conclusion
Restate the main idea of the introduction, say whay you are interested in this technology and how you see a future with it. End up with a motivational phrase.
